BACKSCATTER works from Cannery Row in Monterey, California, and is both a specialist underwater photo and video retailer and a manufacturer of its own equipment. Its own-brand line is built around the problems photographers hit in the water rather than around a full system: the Mini Flash and Atom Flash strobes, the Optical Snoot, colour filter systems, the FLIP filter range for GoPro, and the MacroMate Mini and Sharp Wide lenses. Its staff are divers and photographers who use the equipment they sell.
